Samsung Launches Galaxy Note 7 In China With New Battery

Samsung is launching the Galaxy Note 7 in China. The device will be released with a new battery following a recall of the unit worldwide. Before its China launch it has been reported that the Galaxy Note 7 has a faulty battery.

Samsung has recently made a recall of the Galaxy Note 7 after it has been found to have a battery that might be a hazard. The battery is said to have the potential of combusting while being charged, according to Phone Arena. There might be up to 2.5 million units that might be recalled.

Regardless of the worldwide recall for the Galaxy Note 7, Samsung has decided to continue to launched the unit in China with new batteries. That should mean that unlike the units already out, China will have new units that would be much safer.

The new battery is said to be sourced from a different supplier than the current units that are out in the market. The source of the new battery has not been revealed as of yet. However the wording of Samsung's announcement is clear that the new battery would be safe.

In its press release, Samsung reassures consumers in China that the new units of the Galaxy Note 7 there would be safe, as GSM Arena notes in its report. The statement says that the batteries are not simply replacement batteries but come from a different supplier. A replacement battery would still somehow feel unsafe if it did come from the same supplier, especially if quality is an issue.

In its press statement Samsung reiterates that it will continue to uphold its high quality and commitment to service. This is seen with the worldwide recall of the Galaxy Note 7 as Samsung sees that its quality is compromised with defective batteries in the units sold.

Battery isn't the only issue with the Galaxy Note 7 as iTechPost reports that the S-Pen is also causing issues for it.
