Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 vs Amazon Kindle Fire HD 8: Full Comparison

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 has been around for quite a while and it hasn't gathered much attention, quite unlike its smartphone brethren. Now, the Amazon Kindle Fire HD 8 has been released and people are not convinced that it's going to sweep away Apple's powerful iPad mini 4. Will it be a match for the Samsung Galaxy Tab SS3?

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 has not received any complaints about its performance. In fact, it seems like it has been doing very well, at least compared to Samsung's latest flagship phablet, which has triggered the now-infamous news with Galaxy Note 7 recalls. The Amazon Kindle Fire HD 8, on the other handm has been laying claims that it's going to beat Apple's iPad Mini 4, but Apple fans disagree. Let's see how it measures up with the Samsung Galaxy Tab S3.

The Amazon Kindle Fire HD 8 is still sporting the same look as the Fire HD 8 that was released in 2015. By design, it looks plasticky, but it's sleek and bold. The Fire HD 8 is lightweight and comes in four color variations that users can choose from.

However, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 is a different story. Samsung's Galaxy Tab S3 has always kept its clean, white and elegant look since the first generation of its line of tablets. It only comes in one color, but what it lacks in color variations, the tablet makes up for in its features and performance.

Sources suggest, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 is smaller by 0.9 inches from the Amazon Kindle Fire HD 8. It's also lighter, weighing at 319 g as opposed to the Kindle Fire HD 8 which weighs 567 g.

The Fire HD 8 has a higher screen resolution at 1920x1200 pixels compared to the Galaxy Tab S3's 1280x800 pixels. In terms of Storage, the Galaxy Tab S3 comes with 32 GB of internal storage while the Fire HD 8 comes with either 8 or 16 GB. Although both devices can cater up to 256 GB external storage using a microSD. The Galaxy Tab S3 has 1.5 GB RAM and the Fire HD 8 only has 1GB, but both are running on the same processor.

Both devices have front and rear cameras, but the Fire HD 8 wins this round with 5 MP primary camera while the Galaxy Tab S3 has a 3 MP rear shooter. Yet, Samsung takes that win quickly as its front camera has 1.3 MP and the Fire HD 8 just has a VGA, according to GSM Arena. Although there appears to be no specifics provided for the speakers, consumers say that the sound quality is good and crisp.

There are still a lot of blanks to fill and questions that both devices need to answer, but from what has been presented so far - we go back and forth between the Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 and Amazon Fire HD 8. Although, if you like taking selfies using the front cam you might prefer Samsung Galaxy Tab S3.
