'Blindspot' Season 2 Spoilers, Release Date: Premiere Episode Takes Show To New Direction

Picking up three months after the roller coaster events of season 1, "Blindspot" season 2 premiere episode titled "In Night So Ransomed Rogue" would change the focus of the crime drama series.

According to the synopsis of episode 1, there would be big revelations about Jane's identity that could threaten the dynamics between her and her team in FBI. The FBI recaptures Jane after she escapes from CIA's custody, as they coax her to be a triple-agent of her old terrorist group. This season's kick-off will lead to the discovery of new conspiracies, shocking answer, and more questions.

The show's executive producer, Martin Gero, released a statement in July hinting that the new season will depict Jane in a different light. For the new season, he sealed his lips when it came to the juicy details but he promised that all the big questions from season 1 would be answered in the first two episodes of the new season.

A Recap Of "Blindspot" Season 1

At the end of "Blindspot's" first season, there has been bad blood between Special Agent Kurt Weller and Jane Doe. With the discovery that Jane is not Weller's childhood friend, Taylor Shaw, the big question remains, "Who is Jane Doe?"

Jane Doe, the tattooed girl with unknown origins, remains to be in the thick of things as more conspiracies unravel. In the first season, the biggest question was about Jane's identity, her sudden appearance in New York City and why her tattoos led FBI to solve crimes in their watch list.

New Characters In "Blindspot" Season 2

With its new direction, the sophomore season would also introduce new characters. New faces in the series include Michelle Hurd, who plays an operative from Jane's past; Luke Mitchell whose character is mentioned in the finale as Jane's contact; and Archie Panjabi, who would play the head of NSA's secret arm.

Shortly after "Blindspot" first season ended in May, the series was renewed for a second season and it is set to air starting Wednesday, Sept.14. The crime drama's fall season comes at a new time slot at 10 pm on NBC.
