Overwatch Season 2 Update: Will It Have A Better Reward System? Plus Skill Rating Changes

An update from Overwatch Season 2 features a live version; however fans are curious if there is an improvement when it comes to gameplay and rewards. This game from Blizzard Entertainment is expected to come on September 6 on the PC and Xbox One. The second season update indeed came out as a surprise, since it came out on the first day of the month.

Patch 1.3 has a new map called Eichenwalde and it includes with it an improvement to the overall structure of the game. It also has put an end to its Sudden Death feature. There were also noticeable changes in the skill rating system of the game. In season 1, it used a 100-point scale, whereas season 2 will be using a 5000-point scale. This change can elicit an improved gauge for players about their rankings. It will also make players feel more rewarded since they do not have to go up or down by quarter or by halves.

According to Ecumenical News, Overwatch Season 2's rankings are divided into 7 tiers. These are Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, Master, and Grandmaster. This change was applied so that there will be a disassociation of players with their skill rating number. This is according to game director Jeff Kaplan. He even said that they want players to realize something about their skill rating. He added that ratings skills can naturally go up or down whenever competitive matches will be played.

Based on the reports from, Destoedge, once a player hits the tier for the season, the players will still remain in that position, despite the drop of a rating skill. It is however different if players are in the position of Master and Grandmaster tier. A drop in one of those tier means that the player will be out in that particular tier.
