'Girl Meets World' Season 4 Update: No Announcement Yet From Disney; Fans' Petition Might Move Series To Freeform

"Girl Meets World" Season 4 is still unconfirmed as of today. Some reports suggest the show will be canceled and Disney is thinking of a spinoff instead which is probably the reason why fans are now petitioning it to be moved to freeform.

A fan with the username "Smurf Vlogs" started the petition via Change.org. The petition calls to Walt Disney Company to allow the 4th season of "Girl Meets World" to Freeform. Her petition already has 47,885 signatures from the 50,000 signatures it requires. Just 2,115 more and her petition is complete.

The petition states the request to move "Girl Meets World" to Freeform, not only because the 4th season is still unsure, but also because Disney is more focused on providing shows that targets kids. The show's fans want the series to tackle more mature subjects just like "Boy Meets World" back then. In addition, Disney Channel policy states that it may only go as long as a 4th season but fans are asking to have it as long as "Boys Meets World" which aired for 7 seasons. If the Freeform request is granted, the series can retain its stars with new characters so it can also reach out to an older audience.

According to speculations, Disney channel is considering to do a spinoff of the series possibly about Auggie and Ava or a "Boy Meets World" series.

The "Girl Meets World" is an American series that debuted on June 27, 2014, in the Disney Channel. The show is a sequel to "Boy Meets World" sitcom back in 1993 to 2000. In the original series, the story focuses on Cory Matthews and his relationship with Topanga Lawrence. They eventually get married and is cast in "Girl Meets World" playing the same characters. In the sequel, the story circles around the life of Cory, now a history teacher, Topanga, now a lawyer, and their daughter Riley Matthews.
