Michael Schumacher’s family is suing the German Magazine “Bunte” for wrong claims that the F1 champion is finally able to walk.

On behalf of the Schumacher clan, their lawyer Felix Damm divulged in a court hearing in Germany the real deal on his current health condition.

“He cannot walk,” Damm clarified.

The attorney also added that Michael is unable to stand even with the help of his therapists.

According to Mirror, “Bunte” published a front - page exclusive story last year that reported about Michael’s positive health progress after suffering severe head injuries from a tragic skiing accident in 2013. The publication featured a statement from Michael’s anonymous friend saying that the F1 racer can walk with assistance.

"Michael is very thin. But he can once again walk a little with the help of his therapists. He manages to make a couple of steps. And he can also raise an arm."

Sabine Kehm, Schumacher's manager immediately refuted the false claims in protecting Michael and his clan.

"Unfortunately, we are forced by a recent press report to clarify that the assertion that Michael could move again is not true. Such speculation is irresponsible, because given the seriousness of his injuries, his privacy is very important for Michael. Unfortunately they also give false hopes to many involved people."

 A verdict is expected in October and the Schumachers are likely to acquire €40,000-100,000 (£34,000-£85,000) from the said magazine for the damages done in invading their privacy and for falsifying the truth.

Michael’s family has been having tough times in coping with the trials and tribulations brought by the devastating incident that almost killed him. It is understandable that his family provide him the maximum safety and security that he deserves.

Updates on his health status may be scarce and his millions of fans may feel deprived of the information that they’ve been longing to get yet they join the Schumachers in standing strong for Michael’s journey towards healing and wellness.
