Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 Update: New Playable & Supporting Characters Revealed

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 has just revealed a new playable character on September 20. Some supporting and non-playable characters were also introduced.

Namekian Nail Joins Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2

Japanese V-Jump Magazine was able to confirm that Namekian Nail is the latest playable character added in Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2. A YouTube user, SaiyanGamer showed a scan of the magazine on September 19.

Who is Namekian Nail?

Namekian Nail first appeared in Dragon Ball Z. He eventually joined up with Piccolo. In Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, the playable character will appear in the game's storyline.

Other New Characters In Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2

Other playable characters include Mecha Cooler who will also make an appearance in the storyline as well. Goku and Vegeta will show their Super Saiyan Blue modes in the upcoming game. They were DLC characters in the previous Xenoverse game. But the second installment now features them as part of the main characters.

There are also new non-playable characters introduced in the DB Xenoverse 2 such as Bulma and Dende. Most Dragon Ball fans are quite familiar with the two from TV and anime series.

No Original DBZ Characters?

DB Xenoverse 2 game director Masayuki Hirano earlier revealed that no original DBZ characters will be featured in the upcoming game. He said that all DB Xenoverse 2 playable characters have flying abilities which is lacking to most if not all DBZ characters. The only original Dragon Ball character that has any flying ability is the young Goku but needs the "nimbu clouds" to do so.

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 Release Date & Other Characters

Bandai Namco is expected to release Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 on October 25, 2016. It will also be available on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and the Windows PC. The developer assured that many more characters will appear in the upcoming game via DLC packs.
