Say Goodbye To 'No Man's Sky'; Here's System Era's Co-op Game 'Astroneer'

"Astroneer" the cooperative space exploration video game from System Era could be the title that would unseat "No Man's Sky" from the space procedural top list.

The latest footage now tells us that "Astroneer" will finally get a full public unveiling before the year ends in December as reported by Middle of Nowhere Gaming.

This sudden early access is due to the fact that the developer wants "Astroneer" to be accessible immediately to its players. System Era further wants an engaging interaction with its Astroneer community, especially with the game still in its initial phase as they want their game to be a superlative example when it comes to space and planet exploration gameplay.

Here's the opening narrative from Astroneer's website:

"The sudden development of technology for rapid space travel enables fast and inexpensive journeys to the stars. Exo Dynamics, the dominant conglomerate in the new field, has opened flights to daring citizens of Earth. Like the Yukon gold rush of old, waves of adventurers sign up to launch themselves into a new frontier, risking everything to seek their fortune in the far reaches of the galaxy. These are the Astroneers.

As an Astroneer, you must find a way to dig out a life on one of a multitude of harsh new worlds. Blast through the terrain to uncover precious artifacts and materials you can use to fuel your quest to become a wealthy baron in the stars. Along the way, discover oddities, raise questions, and uncover mysteries."

In Astroneer's Early Access version, there will be five central pillars for a resource loop that will tackle:

  • Discovery
  • Traversal
  • Excavation
  • Transportation
  • Transformation

Astroneer inspires an online gameplay with friends and  strangers as communication and cooperation are both vital for success in the game.

Check out the video below and tell us if "Astroneer" will give "No Man's Sky" a run for its money.
