Back in 2004, viewers were captivated by the story of a family of superheroes in a red suit. And even though Pixar seemed a little elusive on the details of the upcoming "The Incredibles 2," the movie is happening.
In an interview with the movie's writer/director Brad Bird, the sequel is something most fans of the first movie will enjoy. "Hopefully it's the same characters and feel, but going in a new direction. I mean, that's the trick with a sequel. It's repeating yourself, without repeating yourself," he said in an interview. He further noted that new elements will be in place as well.
But what can these new elements be?
Several sources claim that someone from the Parr family will be the villain in "The Incredibles 2." And though it is a debate between Jack-Jack or Violet, a lot is leaning towards Jack-Jack being the villain.
In the first movie, the two Parr kids Violet and Dash had already learned to control and adjust to their new superhero status. However, towards the end of the movie, it can be seen that Jack-Jack, who was still a baby then, had only started showing his super powers.
For the sequel of "The Incredibles," the kids are already all grown up with Jack-Jack as a confused teenager who might decide to join the dark side.
In an interview with the Collider, Bird mentioned that he is working with a lot of people that were part of the first movie too. He said that they are 75% done with the script and they are really having a good time with the making of "The Incredibles 2."
"The Incredibles 2" is slated to be released on June 21, 2019.
