Pokemon GO Team Will Introduce Legendary Birds - Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres In Special Events

The hype of Pokemon GO  may have taken a backseat for a while. Apparently, however, Niantic is brewing something for Pokemon GO fans in the near future.

The makers of Pokemon GO reminds us that the augmented reality app will have so much more to offer to Pokemon players - there certainly is so much more to look forward to in the coming weeks.

Niantic Labs CEO John Hanke revealed to Recode Decode about the team's plans and updates for Pokemon GO.

Hanke confirmed that the Pokemon GO team will be planning events for Pokemon GO players. He further noted that this idea came from Ingress, Niantic's old game.

Hanke was asked wether the events will serve as opportunities for Niantic to produce rare Pokemons- specifically legendary Pokemons like Articuno, Zapdos, and Molters.

Nothing much was said about this question however.

In a TechCrunch event last week, Hanke shared that they will certainly be revealing new Pokemons in the holding of events because "it's a natural way to keep the game fresh."

Hanke did not however give further specifics about the events. He admitted that plans are already on the way. The Pokemon GO team is developing additional features once the hype has settled down.

"It's been a busy two months, so we're now happy that we're kind of stabilized and able to start being a little more thoughtful about the next set of features that we want to build," Hanke said.

Recode further confirms that the upcoming features would allow the Pokemon players to trade their Pokemons with friends.

Trading feature has been part of the Pokemon video games since its release in 1996. It is therefore only expected and appropriate for this particular Niantic feature to be introduced in the hit reality app.

Also included is a feature that will enable player-versus-player mode.

With all of these updates, Pokemon GO fans are certainly going to have more than one reasons to anticipate how the augmented reality app will evolve in the future.
