Square Enix has released a new trailer for their upcoming open world crime drama title “Sleeping Dogs.”

According to the company, the fighting expertise that George St-Pierre has brought to the development of “Sleeping Dogs” has ensured that United Front Games’ combat system allows players to take on the toughest and the meanest the city has to offer.

As per the game’s official page, “Welcome to Hong Kong, a vibrant neon city teaming with life, whose exotic locations and busy streets hide one of the most powerful and dangerous criminal organizations in the world: the Triads. You play the role of Wei Shen, an undercover cop trying to take down the Triads from the inside out. You'll have to prove yourself worthy as you fight your way up the organization, taking part in brutal criminal activities without blowing your cover. Torn between your loyalty to the badge and a criminal code of honor, you will risk everything as the lines between truth, loyalty and justice become permanently blurred.”

The core gameplay of “Sleeping Dogs” consists of giving the player an open world environment in which to move around freely. The game is played as an over-the-shoulder, third-person perspective action-adventure game with role-playing elements.

Sleeping Dogs is scheduled for an August release on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.
