Overwatch Update: Controller Acceleration Issue Addressed On The Next Patch

Since Overwatch has been launched on both consoles, several complaints has emerged and remain unsolved. This problem is common to all players playing Overwatch on consoles. It gave players a hard time adapting the current aim acceleration that was applied to the game. In addition, some players are not really used to that kind of thumbstick movement. However, Blizzard has currently announced that an update will arrive to fix these past controller acceleration issues.

According to VG247, Blizzard will be introducing Overwatch into the new control system called 'Dual-Zone Mode.' This will enable the controllers' thumbstick to move with lower sensitivity as well as greater acceleration. However, take note that when the thumbstick moves 10% outer of its range, acceleration is then reduced while sensitivity will increase. This new mode aims to max out the players' performance by playing effectively. It will now allow players to have a more precise aim while still able to have a fast pace turn during combat.

Based on the reports from Game Rant, this new Dual Zone mode allows sensitivity to increase exponentially until it reaches its range while the acceleration constantly remains high throughout the movement. In addition, Blizzard announced that the old 'Exponential Ramp' mode will not be removed so that players will have a multiple option to select.

As of this writing, the 'Dual-Zone' mode will join the latter 'Ana, Widowmaker and Junkart changes' on the Overwatch Public Test Realm. These changes will be released to the public once it will pass the series of tests conducted by the community. They are only accessible on PC for now via Battle.net launcher.

For PC players, they are not necessarily required on this new precise controller system since they are using the classic mouse and keyboard. However, it will still be considered by the company since some players prefer to play other controllers on their PC, preferably those wireless current gen controllers.
