Elder Scrolls VI Setting, Release Date Rumor: Game Set In Valenwood?

Elder Scrolls VI rumormongers claimed that the upcoming Bethesda game will be set in Argonia or the Black Marsh. However, there is another theory that next installment will be in Valenwood instead.

Elder Scrolls VI Valenwood Rumor Based on Leaked Bethesda Document?

The Elder Scrolls VI Valenwood theory was recently brought up by YouTube presenter ESO. He presented in his video a purported 2014 Bethesda memo that prohibits its employees from "using or referencing a number of terms" that include "Fallout: Nuka World", "Elder Scroll VI" "Project Greenheart". The leaked document was initially treated with suspicion. However, the release of Fallout 4: Nuka World this year seems to indicate that the paper is genuine.

Project Greenheart is Valenwood?

It has been theorized that "Project Greenheart" is a code name for Valenwood. Historically, game developer Bethesda uses code names related to the game. Elder Scrolls pundits are quick to point out that Greenheart is an existing city and actually located in Valenwood.

Valenwood Background

Valenwood is the home of the Bosmer or Wood Elves race. They strictly follow the Green Pact in which the harming of all plant life must be avoided. This restriction means that the Wood Elves will likely use bone weapons and armor.

Their tradition also commands them to eat only meat which means that they mainly rely on hunting for food, weapons and armor construction. There is also rumors that they cannibals, feasting on the bodies of their slain enemies.

The Valenwood environment is a mixture of thick mangroves and rainforests in the south while the northern part is composed of grasslands, savannah and rocky terrains as well as arid plains.

Elder Scrolls VI Rumored Release Date

Sadly, the launch date for the upcoming Elder Scrolls VI is probably years away. Industry observers believed that the most likely release date for the game's sixth installment is either 2019 or 2020.
