"The Lion King" has been a part of everyone's childhood. From the characters up to the story itself, kids and kids at heart were hooked up to the story of the lion. With that said, "The Lion King" will be restored again just like what happened to "Beauty and the Beast" and "Jungle Book"
According to The Telegraph, the story has been a hit in 1994 and raked a great amount of views at the box office even before it was converted into a stage musical. The live action remake is set to be directed by Jon Favreau, the director of the hit movie Iron Man.
The Walt Disney Studios released its statement regarding the confirmation of the remake:
"We can officially confirm that The Walt Disney Studios and director Jon Favreau are putting a new reimagining of The Lion King on the fast-track to production."
"The Lion King builds on Disney's success of reimagining its classics for a contemporary audience with films like Maleficent, Cinderella and The Jungle Book."
In addition to this, Game N' Guide stated that Disney might give minor changes to the plot of the live-action remake. However, the characters that made an impact to the viewers before such as Simba, Rafiki, Scar and Nala would still be part of the said film.
Sources also told that the original songs that were writtend by Elton John, Tim Rice and Hans Zimmer would still be retained in the movie, including Can You Feel the Love Tonight.
As to its casting, there is no human interaction in the former Lion King movie which led to a conclusion that the chosen cast would be lending just their voices.
Fans around the world share their opinions regarding the remake:
Excited about the Lion King live action remake. I hope they make it with humans, and give it a cool new setting, like medieval Denmark.
