With the recently launched Pixel, Google is aiming to take the title of the best Android smartphone ever. They are going against big Android smartphone flagships, Samsung's S7 and S7 Edge, Sony's Xperia XZ, Motorola's Moto Z and more. Will the Pixel really be able to go ahead of all these?
The Pixel is Successor to the Best Android Phones
Google has ditched the Nexus brand and gone for Pixel. However, it was undeniably one of the best Android brands, Wired reported, even though the devices under that brand were manufactured by different smartphone companies.
Nexus-branded phones always offered high-end specifications that come out better than its competitors. Furthermore, it has a smooth software that throws other flagships out of the water, particularly Samsung's that has notoriously clunky user interface.
With Pixel, the Mountain View company has not forgotten their roots, bringing the best of Nexus and improving upon it to bring the best smartphone to the market.
The Pixel is Nougat Ready
Android's latest software version, the 7.0 Nougat, is available in the Pixel right out of the box. It is usually not readily available to download in other Android devices upon launch, so Google's own smartphones, which are the first to receive the latest update, are the clear winners here.
The Pixel Brings the Latest Specs
The new Android on the market sports only the latest specs available. It has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 against the Snapdragon 820 in other flagships. Its camera is one of the best, if not the best. DxOMark recently gave its camera a score of 89, the highest one so far. A close second is Samsung's S7 with a score of 88.
One of the best features of the Pixel is Google Assistant, which works similar to Siri. It can be brought up by saying "OK Google" or by pressing the home button. The newest flagship is actually the first to come with the artificial intelligence pre-installed.
With the specs and features of the new Google Pixel, it is definitely a strong contender for the crown.
