New Mercedes Benz S550 Has Wireless Charging?

Mercedes Benz has new a offer to its loyal customers, S550 2017. It is a plug-in hybrid that has wireless charging. With the help of Qualcomm's Halo system, the German car maker was able to incorporate wireless charging for its electric vehicles.

Wireless Charging Powered By Qualcomm

The latest feature of S550 is the wireless electric vehicle charging (WECV) scheme. It will be the first that the system will be available in the market. Mercedes Benz' WECV will be supplied by Tier 1, in a report from MSN.

Qualcomm provided a Halo technology last 2011. Mercedes Benz S550 has a Halo technology that is equipped for wireless charging. With the help of the latest tech, the resonant magnetic induction to transmit energy that is similar with conductive charging that has 90 percent efficiency rating.

The new technology is compliant with SAE J2954, which means that an industry can transmit wireless power by infrastructure, car makers and original equipment manufacturer. The Halo tech is expected to provide safety and high-quality performance, according to Car and Driver.

According to MBUSA, the Mercedes Benz S550 2017 has a 4.7-liter V8 biturbo engine. It has an ECO start or stop system, allowing it to save on fuel because when the car is at the stoplight, it automatically shuts down. It also sports shift paddles with 9G- Tronic 9-speed automatic transmission. In simpler terms, the driver can change gears without lifting a hand on the steering wheel.

It offers an AIRMATIC suspension that enables a quicker response with lighter weight. A type brake technology with torque vector system that has précise and accurate braking system can also be found under the hood. Lastly, there is a magic body control or in basic terminology, it uses sensors to scan the road and anticipate any obstacles ahead.

The aesthetics of the Mercedes Benz S550 EV has a sporty look. It has a wide dashboard with high-technology. The headlights and rear lights and even the interiors have light-emitting diode (LED).
