BMW has recently unveiled its new 5 Series 2017 Sedan. It's not short of technological advancement. The famous automaker seems keen to continue its success in the market. More than 7.6 million of the first six generation BMW 5 Series cars have been sold. The new one will offer an even more exciting driving experience. One of its new features is Apple's CarPlay.

The new BMW 5 Series Sedan will be released in the market on Feb. 2017, according to BMW's website.

Apple CarPlay In BMW 2017 5 Series Sedan

The Chairman of the Board of Management at BMW AG Harald Krüger has described the latest offering the BMW. He said that the new 2017 5 Series Sedan will set new benchmarks technologically. Perhaps, one of the reasons is the integrated Apple CarPlay.

BMW is not shy to point out that it will be the first carmaker to incorporate the Apple CarPlay without any cables at all. This is part of the company's goal to improve its smartphone integration.

Such capability of wireless CarPlay support will not require drivers to connect iPhone via USB, according to The Verge. This was previously done to replace the car's central software with Apple's own.

BMW explained that the CarPlay will allow the phone and other any apps to be operated via the screen in the car. This is possible through the iDrive Controller of touch control.

A Background On Apple's CarPlay

The Apple CarPlay is initially released back in 2014. It helps a head unit to serve as a display and controller for an iPhone. Many automakers have already expressed their interest in incorporating it into their infotainment systems.

The Verge further reports that Apple supposedly stopped Volkswagen from using the feature. This is back in January during the Consumers Electronics Show. Though Apple has stated on its website that all major car manufacturers are partnering with CarPlay.
