"Crayon Shin-Chan" is announced to have a new movie entitled "Eiga Crayon Shin-chan Shūrai! Uchūjin Shiriri" which translates to "Crayon Shin-chan the Movie: Invasion! Alien Shiriri." And as the title suggests, Shin-chan will deal with aliens from outer space. The film is scheduled to go on the big screens in April 15, 2017.

A teaser trailer has been released for the movie and it starts by looking back on the previous movies of Crayon Shin-chan up to its upcoming movie where fans get a sneak peek on the alien and its "Star Wars" inspired sword. The trailer also revealed that this is Shin-chan's 25th anime film.

The film will be directed by Masakazu Hashimoto, the same director who made the 23rd Crayon Shin-chan film " Eiga Crayon Shin-chan; Ora no Hikkoshi Monogatari ~Sabaoten Daishugeki". The last installment of the franchise is called "Eiga Crayon Shin-chan Bakusui! Yumemi World Dai Totsugeki" where Shin-chan was trapped in a nightmare dimension. It premiered last April where its opening week earned a total of US $3.67 million in Japan alone.

"Crayon Shin-chan" started as a manga series by Yoshito Usui where the story revolves around the life of a 5-year-old boy named Shin-chan and his naughty adventures. He is joined by his family including his parents, a little sister and his dog. In 1992, an anime adaptation has aired on TV Asahi and continues to air as of today. Its anime is such a big hit that it was dubbed to different languages including English, German, French, Portuguese, Hindi, Hebrew, Indonesian, Vietnamese and many more.

Unfortunately, writer Yoshito Usui died in September 11, 2009 so the manga series had to end which was announced in October 16, 2009. However, the series had a new manga in 2010 which is reported to be continued by Usui's staff titled "New Crayon Shin-chan"
