Weekend Box Office: 'The Accountant' No. 1 At $24.7M, 'Kevin What Now?' Falls On No.2 [Watch Trailer Here]

Ben Affleck's "The Accountant" has earned the top ranked with $24.7 million profit from 3,332 cinemas even after being disregarded by numerous critics. Regardless of such, moviegoers seemed to love the movie and gave it a huge benefit for Warner Bros., in return.

According to Hollywood Porter, Gavin O'Connor directed "The Accountant" which aced the North America's box office just this weekend, delivering tremendously more than what is being expected. The movie's success is obviously a good thing for Warner Bros., which just invested under $40 million for the adult-oriented film, 86% of the people who bought the movie tickets are above 25 years old, 68% of such is 35 years old and above.

"The Accountant" is an action-thriller where Ben Affleck acts as the accountant and assassin at the same time. According to Jeff Goldstein, the domestic distribution of Warner said that "This is a tremendous result. Look, I was hoping we'd be opening up between $15 million and $20 million, but I thought it would be more like $16 million or $17 million,"

However, "The Accountant" broke in with a heaping $23.8 million over Ben Affleck's "The Town" and $19.5 million on "Argo". The film's debut also went over Johnny Depp's Black Mass on $22.6 million; it also defeated the winner of last week's box office "The Girl on the Train."

On the other hand, Kevin Hart's "What Now?" won the second place for the Weekend Box Office with a debut income of $11.98 million. The movie just costs $9.9 million for its productions which showed various scripted and standup sequences.Kevin Hart's "What Now" is said to have the lowest per -screen average compared with his other theatrical specials "Let Me Explain" $11,459 at 876 cinemas, and "Laugh at My Pain" with an average of $19,472.
