'Gears of War 4' Will Run In Ultra Setting Using Mid-Range Graphics Card, Microsoft’s DirectX 12 News Inside

Microsoft's Microsoft’s Gears of War 4 is showing great promise as players are able to play and crank up the game to its maximum settings using the latest mid-range graphics card.

According to  Technoaisle, Gears of War 4  is already making huge waves inside the PC gaming community as they are able to play the game without suffering from frame rate issues and the ability to set the graphics configuration to “ultra”. This means that people who are on a budget can still enjoy the game without having too look deep into their pocket and spend a couple of hundred dollars just to get a high-end graphics card to play the latest games.

It was all possible with Microsoft’s  Direct X 12  API. Launched July 2015 alongside Windows 10, it allows game developers to increase the efficiency of resource utilization through the parallel compute. What will happen is that games will less likely to encounter frame rate hiccups during graphics intensive scene and will be able to perform better on higher resolution.

The switch from DirecX 11 to DirectX 12 is not a walk in the park though. It takes a lot of time in order and dedication to fully understand the new API and incorporate all of its bells and whistles into the game pipeline.

If that’s the case, then most games that will be released during or sometime after the release of the new API will most likely not benefit greatly since the game were not originally built on this system and there’s just not enough time for developers to tinker and maximize its true potential. Most likely, the developers will resort to port their existing DX11 pipeline to DX12 just to make sure it won’t cause them any delay.
