Galaxy Note 2 Launch Date Leaked; Arriving On Oct. 24?

Samsung's Galaxy Note 2 is easily one of the highly anticipated smartphones in the U.S., and although a specific release date is unknown, rumors haven't stopped generating a possible launch date. Now, per reports, the futuristic smartphone is expected to arrive on Oct. 24, the same date when Samsung has a press event scheduled.

The latest information arrived from a leak, courtesy T-Mobile, which stated that not only will Samsung share the full details on the Note 2's availability that day, but will also announce the start of retail sales. What's more, all the retail channels will be offering the phablet in Titanium Gray and as many as 450 "Samsung Experience" stores will also have the unit in white.

Samsung, as far as the promotion of the Note 2 in the U.S. in concerned, is taking its own time before finally making the next version of Note available for the customers in the country. Although the Note 2 has been official since late August, Samsung decided to wait until mid-September to announce the phablet's U.S. launch. However, the manufacturer is yet to provide the most basic of details on the launch, like the carriers involved.

Nonetheless, it is now widely expected that Samsung will finally take the wraps off the Note 2 on Oct. 24 at the manufacturer's scheduled press event, which is nearly two months since the phone's initial announcement.

Per a Phone Arena report, Samsung has high expectations from the upcoming phablet and has set its goals accordingly. The report states that the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is expected to sell 20 million units, which is double the 10 million units that the original model sold after its arrival.

Additionally, the new T-Mobile memo states that the possible arrival of Note 2 has reminded the carrier's representatives that this will be the first ever Samsung device with a quad-core processor in its line up.

Other information shared in the memo includes the device's regular specifications (5.5-inch display, pre-installed Android Jelly Bean 4.1, and more), as well as, added features like the pre-loaded "Need for Speed: Most Wanted" Android game, and the inclusion of NFC.
