YouTube App Latest Update Integrates 4K Support For PS4 Pro

Sony has launched a new update for the YouTube app on PS4. The update covers several stability improvements and general performance. However, the biggest highlight of this new patch is the addition of 4K support to Sony's brand new console, the PS4 Pro.

According to Attack of the Fan boy, the two patch notes for version 1.05 and 1.06 update on YouTube app mentioned, "Support for playback of 4K videos on PlayStation 4 Pro" and "General performance and stability improvements." 4K is considered as the modern day high definition for video playback. Several tech giants and gaming companies nowadays are slowly adapting to this new quality. 4K videos bring more pixels to the picture making it more detailed and smart. In addition, it also improves the lighting of every video.

Since it brings more pixels to the picture, you should always take note that streaming 4K videos on YouTube requires high-speed internet connection. If your internet speed is not fast enough, it is unlikely for you to buffer a video quality that high. At the same time, you will be needing a 4KTV to experience the best out of 4K videos. As announced, you can use the YouTube app to watch all the available 4K videos when PS4 Pro releases this Nov. 10. Additionally, the Netflix app also receives 4K capability.

Unfortunately, streaming 4K movies/videos on PS4 Pro is the only way possible during its launch next month. The latest console from Sony does not include support for HUD Blu-ray discs similar to the ones found in Microsoft's Xbox One S. However, it is worthy enough to mention that PS4 Pro supports HDR. This new variant makes each games and videos look elegant as HDR improves the colors' brightness and vibrancy compared to the standard high definition.

PS4 Pro will be officially out on the market this coming Nov. 10, 2016 while pre-orders for the upcoming console are still available.
