Next-Gen Dodge RAM 1500 Is Meaner, Bigger, And Ready To Blow The 2017 Ford F-150 Out Of The Water

Two teasers were revealed from an FCA dealer presentation, the upcoming Jeep Wagoneer and next generation RAM 1500 pickup bound to arrive in late next year. This mega cab has a meaner and bigger design as the 2017 Ford F-150 range.

The next-gen Dodge RAM is expected to make use of more mixed and matched lighter-weight materials, likely to provide some kind of weight savings for more fuel efficiency. With this, the longer and wider Dodge truck could actually beat the heavy, all-aluminum Ford F-150.

The Dodge RAM is not ready to completely abandon its longtime signature grille crosshairs, as the front of the vehicle looks just as aggressive and imposing as ever. Moreover, the RAM is upgrading its diesel engine, resulting in an even more powerful vehicle.

According to Car scoops, the freshened up appearance of the next-gen RAM continues at the rear with the adoption of new vertical taillights with a much more chiseled and angular shape and potentially, the utilization of LEDs. Also visible at the rear is an overhauled tailgate with bold creases and sharp lines.

Allpar further stated that the Pentastar upgrade with direct injection should boost power to 310-320 hp, with a higher economy and better low-end torque. There have been rumors that the 5.7 liters "Apache" Hemi engines will be upgraded, but major changes may have been abandoned, and the company may even be running on stockpiled Hemis after 2018.

A twin-scroll V6 variant is expected around 2020 but may also arrive earlier. Rumors about this variant are very encouraging as well, with diesel speeding to higher towing capacity could be through cooling, calibration and engine upgrades currently measured at 9,200.

In the same manner, the RAM is much mature and the Ford is conformably safer, but the RAM's looks have aged well and its powertrain lineup is just a little better. The next-gen RAM is very impressive, and when it's equipped with its EcoBoost powertrain, it becomes even better. With a more defined look and power to die for, this new mega cab will blow the 2017 Ford F-150 out of the water.
