‘Boo! A Madea Halloween’ Movie Has Tyler Perry In Usual Costumes; Battles With Tom Cruise's ‘Jack Reacher’ For Weekend Box Office

Tyler Perry has made his 16th feature film, "Boo! A Madea Halloween," a movie that is expected to fight with Jack Reacher of Tom Cruise for the number one spot at the box office this weekend. Aside from directing the movie, Perry again takes multiple roles in the film as Brian Simmons, his rude father, Joe and of course, Madea, the main star of the movie. The fact that it is head-to-head with Jack Reacher is something that earns it a pat in the back.

Perry's Eccentricity Shows In This Movie

This is already Perry's 16th feature film and it shows him only barely adept in this kind of work. He is an unconventional filmmaker since the blocking of the action is indifferent, the shot compositions are very rudimentary, and the editing rhythms range from hobbled to stumbling. But these matters are only important to the critics, not the average viewers.

The "Boo! A Madea Halloween" movie offers some raw amusement that will rock the viewers. One example is the scene where Madea together with Aunt Bam, a neighbor, was razzing several young kids doing their trick-and-treat thing. Another example is when the aggressive quasi-matriarch was counseling Brian on what kind of corporal punishment is right for his child.

Perry's Movie Is Expected To Edge "Jack Reacher"

Some analysts believe that the "Boo! A Madea Halloween" movie is expected to slightly edge Tom Cruise's "Jack Reacher: Never Go Back" at the box office this weekend. There are four new releases this weekend with less than 600 theaters to run them. This will be a crowded weekend and will be a thick fight between the two top contenders. Both "Madea" and "Jack Reacher" are projected to open at the high-teen million range and even reaching up to $20 million. Watch the teaser below and see what this Madea film offers.
