Why iPhone 8's Rumored Revolutionary Design Sounds Unlikely

Next year, when Apple will celebrate a decade of iPhones, the tech company will seize the opportunity to launch a completely redesigned iPhone 8, to mark the occasion.

Redesigned iPhone 8

Ten years later after the very first iPhone made its debut back in 2007, the special iPhone 8 that will make its debut in 2017 is expected to be the most impressive iPhone yet. Apple's upcoming flagship mobile device will be especially designed and neatly crafted to mark the 10-year celebration.

Earlier rumors suggested that the next generation iPhone 8 will reportedly come with a significant change in technology and design. It is expected that the new smartphone from giant tech Apple will feature an OLED display covering most of the device's front panel, with the fingerprint scanner mounted beneath the screen. The upcoming Apple mobile device will have no physical home button, as well.

Rumor Of Revolutionary iPhone 8 Design

The special edition iPhone handset was further rumored to feature a glass back rather than aluminum and a metal rim around the edges. However, Tech Times reports that, according to Robert Scoble, veteran blogger and Entrepreneur in Residence at Upload VR, all such suppositions are wrong and the design of the upcoming iPhone 8 will be in fact, unlike anything we've seen before. Scoble claims that the next generation Apple handset will come with a totally revolutionary design.

In a post on Facebook, Scoble suggests that the iPhone 8 will look like a clear piece of glass with an advanced OLED screen. The tech blogger claims that he based his assumption on information coming from "several sources." For extra durability, the iPhone 8's body will likely be made of Gorilla Glass mixed with polycarbonates.

The upcoming iPhone 8 will be completely transparent and users will be able to see straight through the device. The tipster goes on claiming that users will be able to plug the device into a headset with eye sensors on it. This would enable the upcoming iPhone to have a higher polygon count and apparent frame rate than a PC featuring  Nvidia 1080 graphics card.

According to BGR, Scoble further claims that the next-generation iPhone 8 will feature a new Primesense 3D sensor. As Apple is preparing for the 10th iPhone anniversary an impressive number of 100 engineers in Israel are reportedly working on the sensor alone. Scoble also notes that the flagship Apple device will have the antennas and battery camouflaged around the edges of the display.

Why New iPhone 8 Rumor Is Unlikely?

The iPhone 8 revolutionary design rumor certainly sounds good. But as good this all sounds, unfortunately, it seems rather unlikely that Scoble's report will turn out to be accurate. The claims sound incredible and implausible.

Apple will definitely come with a more special next generation iPhone 8, considering the 10-year celebration. But the high-tech giant is still far away from mastering the technology that would allow it to build an iPhone like Scoble details. This is especially true regarding the possibility of designing a battery hidden around the edge.

It remains to be seen what truly innovative features Apple has planned for the upcoming flagship iPhone 8. Time will tell whether Apple manages to come up with something revolutionary, unique and dramatically different with its next generation mobile device. But scaling down a transparent display to a device the size of a smartphone is not going to happen in 2017.
