Naruto was abducted by the Otsutsukis and the four Kages together with Boruto and Sasuke followed them to another dimension to save him. "Boruto: Naruto Next Generations" chapter 8 hints Boruto will play a big role to save his father, and this journey will help him mature to be a great ninja.

In "Boruto: Naruto Next Generations" chapter 6 titled "Loser," the seventh Hokage was able to save Konoha but in the end, he failed to protect himself and got abducted. Boruto was a splitting image of Naruto as he wears his father's old tattered jacket and Sasuke's scratched forehead protector to join the mission to save him.

Spoilers for "Boruto: Naruto Next Generations" chapter 7 titled "The Rescue" suggest that the manga will cover the end of "Boruto: Naruto the Movie" arc, and chapter 8 will start with a new arc featuring Boruto's growth as a ninja who would surpass his father.

The Naruto rescue team will arrive in another dimension to find Naruto bound by Kinshiki and Momoshiki as they extract Kurama's chakra from him. The four Kages will engage in a battle with the duo using taijutsu because ninjutsu will only be absorbed by Momoshiki. Sasuke and Boruto, on the other hand, will rescue Naruto. Seeing Momoshiki at a disadvantage, Kinshiki will make a destructive attack which will injure him. Yet instead of helping him, Momoshiki will turn him into a chakra fruit and eat him. After so much effort, Naruto and Sasuke's combined powers will cut Momoshiki's magma creature in half.

However, Katasuke will show off and use his device and try to kill Momoshiki, but he will absorb his attacks and restore his strength instead. The other Kages will be captured. Sasuke will urge Boruto to use his Vanishing Rasengan and Naruto will lend his chakra to amplify his attack. Momoshiki will not be able to absorb the giant Rasengan as it would vanish for a few seconds and re-appear to destroy him.
