Jury Acquits A Man Of Stalking Kendall Jenner But Convicted With Trespassing At Her Avenue

A jury has absolved a man of trailing model and reality TV icon Kendall Jenner and condemned him of infringing at her secluded Hollywood Hills home

The jury composed of seven women and five men returned the decision Monday against Shavaughn McKenzie after a seven-day trial in which Jenner portrayed her fear at finding McKenzie hiding in her private road and thumping on her car window in August.

A defense attorney had incited jurors to deny the stalking charge, saying there was no proof showing McKenzie deliberately to cause Jenner fear.

McKenzie is indexed to be sentenced Nov. 10 on the misdeed of trespassing charge. He could face up to six months in jail but will likely be liberated because of credits for good conduct.

His attorney Taylor Shramo said he wishes to secure mental health care for McKenzie, a Florida native who roamed from Georgia to Los Angeles last year and started lurking outside Jenner's former home.

The verdict of acquittal this year that a Los Angeles jury has denied a stalking case about a celebrity. In February, a jury discharged an Ohio man of stalking Gwyneth Paltrow after deciding he did not intend to cause her fear by often sending letters to her.

In the Jenner case, Deputy City Attorney Alex Perez said in court that McKenzie, 25, had trailed Jenner's location for 15 months before arresting him. He noted that McKenzie has never said how he well-read that Jenner had moved to the hilltop home abandoned from the street and handy only after driving through a 13-foot gate.

Perez said he was unhappy by the verdict and hoped McKenzie would receive medication.

Perez said McKenzie dogged Jenner's car onto the property and only left after she backed out of the avenue and three of her friends came to detain McKenzie until police arrived.

"I've never been so scared in my life," the 20-year-old Jenner testified, saying she had recognized McKenzie as the same man who twice accosted her while she was driving outside her former home.
