Galaxy S4 Release Rumors: Samsung Teaser Hints ‘Something New’ at CES in Jan., Possibly S3 Sequel

Assumptions turn true at times in the tech world and the most obvious assumption doing the rounds at present is the possible unveiling of Samsung's next gen Galaxy S4 smartphone at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2013 scheduled Jan. 8-11.

With hardly a month to go for the event and less than seven months since its flagship handset Galaxy S3 was released, Samsung seems to be ready with its sequel - the Galaxy S4 as a little teaser from the Korean electronics giant reminds the tech world to be ready for a surprise at the CES. Thought the 18-seconds long video on the company's Samsung Tomorrow blog gives no hint about "what to expect," Galaxy S4 remains the most likely choice.

Sans any specifics or details, the teaser follows a single line that said, "This is a teaser. Get ready for Jan. 8-11, 2013 and stay tuned to Samsung Tomorrow to find out more on what this is about." The title words in the video says "2013, The World Awaits Something New," suggesting that Samsung plans a major release at CES. However, many reports in the past, including one in The Korea Times, had speculated that the latest version of the Galaxy smartphone will be unveiled at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in February.

Riding on the huge success of its Galaxy S3, Samsung is expected to set a grand opening for the next iteration of the device and for that very reason, many are sceptical of Galaxy S4 being the CES surprise from the Korean smartphone major. Sceptics think Samsung would not announce its most-anticipated product so early in the year and rather expect a cheaper tablet, possibly a Galaxy Note II variant or some other device at the electronic mega show. While many market analysts think Samsung would preferably choose the MWC or its own standalone event for its Galaxy S4 launch, CES is considered a logical option to get word out on its upcoming launch.

Check out the teaser below that is making news as of now.
