Today,Facebook introduces Halloween-themed face filters for live videos. These are called as the "masks" on the face filters just like what is seen on Snapchat. Also, you’ll be able to respond to posts with themed reactions with emoticons accompanied. The like, love, laughing, wow, sad, and angry emoticons have been replaced with a skeletal thumbs up, candy heart, laughing witch, ghost, Frankenstein’s monster, or scowling jack o’lantern.

This Facebook feature is said to be for limited time only. The tech giant is convinced that real-time video broadcasting and streaming are an important part of that future which is why it has recently been pouring resources into Facebook Live Video. 

The filters and the reactions will be available through Halloween. To use this, just press and hold the like button on the post of your friend and you'll be able to see the different reactions. Pick the emoticon you like then click on it. Once this Halloween special promotion has ended, it is likely that the season reactions will revert to their normal emoticons.

While this is the first time Reactions have been made around a holiday, it's not the first customization of the responses. In honor of the 50th anniversary of Star Trek, Facebook rolled out updated Like buttons.
