Professional Dota 2 Player And Streamer SingSing Announces His Retirement From Pro Scene

Dota 2 streamer and professional player WehSing "SingSing" Yuen announced his retirement from the professional scene. This announcement was made after his team failed to advance from The Boston Major open qualifiers. SingSing added that he will focus more on streaming and other aspects in his life he wants to pursue.

The Reason Behind His Decision To Retire

In his interview with the DotaBlast, SingSing shared the reason behind their registration under Americas Region during Boston Open Qualifiers. SingSing stated that Kaipi, his team, has a bigger chance in Americas compared to Europe because of the minimal competition present in the region. He also blamed Valve for not announcing tournaments way earlier so that players can make preparations. According to him, they found out they were in regionals 12 hours before the event.

Not only the failure to participate in The Boston Major led SingSing to quit pro gaming but also the team's poor performance during the previous seasons. He sees a lack of discipline, lack of leadership, and lack of unity as the main reasons behind it. In the interview, he said, "We have too many different ideas about how to play the game and that sparks a lot of arguments during the game even and after the game. Endless arguments and we're stuck in this place where we keep arguing about what's better instead of trying to get better as a whole."

SingSing Will Focus On Streaming

At the end of his interview, when he was asked what his next steps are, SingSing told DotaBlast that he will give more time on streaming. He is a known Dota 2 streamer with over 39 million views and 320 thousand followers on Twitch. He was about to do it before but he joined Kaipi, now the recent events led him to finalize his decision which is to focus on streaming and "quit professional gaming forever" as what he said.
