Ronald D. Moore’s “Outlander” has been maintaining its big success in terms of positive reviews and impressive tv ratings. While the third installment of the time travel series is currently hard at work with its grand production, its major characters Claire Randall (Caitriona Balfe) and Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan) are widely rumored to be exclusively dating.

It looks like the onscreen Jamie-Sam romance is getting real. Before fans of the famous stars can jump into further speculations about the alleged romantic relationship of Balfe and Heughan, they should keep themselves updated with facts straight from the lovely duo.

In an interview with Vanity Fair Italy, Caitriona vehemently denied the dating rumors between her and Sam.

“It’s a compliment, we work hard to achieve that chemistry. We are good friends and we have a similar view on life. He is definitely more in shape of me: if I had one gram of the will he has to go to the gym, I’d be the happiest woman on earth. What really bothers me is when people claim we are together. It’s not true.”

Caitriona’s confirmation of her friendly relationship with Sam was supported and affirmed as well by the Scottish actor.

“It saddens me a bit but I guess that means we’ve done a good job. I don’t know. It’s a strange one. I’m still coming to terms with what it’s like to have people follow your personal life as well as your public life. It gets amusing. But she’s just wonderful. We’re very good friends,”Sam said.

There it is. Absolute friendship. Just like that. Nothing more.
