Pokemon Go Update: How TMs And HMs Affect The Game

Pokemon Go has been applying a different kind yet simple algorithm for the move sets of each Pokemon present in the game. With the current system, players always depend on luck in order to acquire the best set of moves in their respective Pokemon since it is randomized. As a result, most of the players find this system difficult to apply on a daily basis, especially when acquiring the perfect Pokemon. Based on some evidences, most Pokemon with higher IV has a lower chance of attaining the best move set. Currently, some players are suggesting that Niantic will consider adding TMs and HMs to the game.

According to Otakukart, it is kind of unfair having a randomized system in determining a Pokemon's move set. Perhaps it is because players could not do anything but to accept the given set of moves. If Niantic's goal is not changing the primary concept of the game, they should at least consider adding TMs and HMs on Pokemon Go. For those who are unfamiliar, TM also known as Technical Machine, is a kind of item similar to HM that will teach Pokemon a certain move. On the other hand, HM or Hidden Machine also works the same way. However, the difference between the two is that TM is a single-use only item while HM is unlimited.

In addition, unlike TMs, HMs are not marketable and moves learned through HM cannot be unlearned by Pokemon under normal conditions. These two items are one of the basic features in Pokemon Games. Players will receive it as a reward by beating a certain Gym Leader or buy it via PokeMart. If these items will be applied on Pokemon Go, players will have the freedom to choose their preferred move set for a particular Pokemon. TMs and HMs could be added as a collective item via PokeStop or available with PokeCoins through the Shop.

Aside from TMs and HMs, Niantic could include some items found in previous Pokemon Games like Evolution Stones, Berries for health, X Attack, X Defend, Iron, Zinc, Protein and much more. It would be more enticing to see these items on the future Pokemon Go updates.
