Apple iPhone 8 Rumors: It Might Have Wireles Charger

Rumors regarding the Apple iPhone 8 specs, features and the release date is everywhere. Now, another rumor is spreading that you might never have to plug a charging cable into your iPhone ever again.

It has been previously reported that Apple will introduce wireless charging into its phones, Foxconn Technology Group, one of Apple's main manufacturing partners, is making wireless charging modules for the 2017 iPhone, Nikkei Asian Review reports.

Next year, 2017, will be the 10th anniversary of the iPhone's release and it seems like a good idea to have Apple launch big plans such as the wireless charging.

The report of Nikkei speculates that the soon to be released iPhone 8 will come with a curved OLED display. While this has not been confirmed by Apple yet, Sharp President Tai Jeng-wu mentioned that the next iPhone would have an OLED screen during a speech last week.

In addition to Nikkei's report, Foxconn, the Chinese manufacturing company, is already producing the wireless charging module for the next iPhone, it doesn't mean that it will make it into the version of the phone that's released to the public. Nikkei's source says that the release of the technology will "depend on whether Foxconn can boost the yield rate to a satisfactory level later on." Put simply, the factory has to get better at making the units before they have a shot at making it into the final product, as reported by CNET.

It's still way too soon to be talking iPhone 8 rumors, so I'll just leave you with some things that are guaranteed to be true, according to Mashable.

  • It will be Apple's fastest iPhone ever.
  • It will have Apple's most advanced optics.
  • There will be at least one extra feature you can't get on any other iPhone.
  • It will come in rose gold.
