What Computer Under $100 Can You Buy On Black Friday?

For those who are you're looking for very cheap Windows 10 laptops in the under $100 range, this holiday season might provide a good opportunity to find good deals.

Holiday Season Deals

According to Polygon, the month of November just started, but the Black Friday deals are already starting to emerge. Dell has announced on Tuesday, Nov. 1, in a press release published on the company's official website, some attractive deals for the end-of-the-month sale.

Among Dell's top deals is included an Inspiron 11 3000 laptop with a price tag reduced to only $99.99. The laptop will go on sale on Nov. 24, at 6 p.m. ET. Another top Dell deal is an Inspiron Micro desktop that goes on sale for $99.99 on Nov. 24, 10 p.m. ET.

Dell seems to be the first major PC brand that is making a move in the holiday season deals. The Inspiron 11 3000 for $99.99 will be available in the U.S. in limited quantities. After the sale period ends, the price will go back up to $199.99.

Dell Inspiron 11 3000

Of course, you cannot expect top configurations on the computers offered on holiday season sales. The Inspiron 11 3000 comes equipped with an Intel Celeron processor and runs on Windows 10 Home operating system. The laptop features 32 GB storage and 2 GB RAM memory. It also comes with just an 11.6-inch 720p display, screen option that is already being phased out of laptops.

The Dell laptop on sale could be used for web-based tasks and for basic computing tasks, but won't be able to store many large video or data files. This portable machine is configured much like a Chromebook, catering to people who use online services, surf the internet and store files online. The $99.99 Inspiron Micro Desktop on sale has specifications similar to the Inspiron 11 3000.

Aside of the basic $199.99 configuration, on Nov. 25 Dell is going to sell a fully-powered 2-in-1 Inspiron 11 3000 laptop for $299.99. This variant will come powered by Intel's latest Kaby Lake Core m3 processor. The hybrid machine will feature an 11.6-inch touchscreen, 500 GB hard drive and 4 GB of memory.

Other Holiday Season Deals

If you do not like the Dell laptop on sale, you can expect that more low-cost models will certainly also be offered by other PC makers. However, these other low-cost laptops will definitely have similar configurations with low-end processors, and limited storage and memory.

As new features are added to laptops, prices are going up. But PC manufacturing companies try to get rid of excess PC inventory every year during the holiday season, by selling them at sale prices. You can be certain that this year will be the same.

According to Computerworld, Jack Gold, principal analyst at J. Gold Associates, explained that rather than to keep a product in a warehouse, it is clearly better to sell it. Gold also said that low prices could reinvigorate the dropping interest in PCs. Customers who may prefer to buy tablets could be attracted by low prices to buy laptops instead.

Gold added that, even over the holiday time, the PC market has been performing pretty bad over the last years. The global market has experienced a continued decline in PC shipments due to the growing interest for tablets and hybrid machines.
