It is no secret to NBA fans that Russell Westbrook is feeling a little bit like that bride left at the altar. His partner in crime, Kevin Durant just bolted for a heated rival last season and left him to pick up the pieces of a tattered Oklahoma City Thunder. So it would come to no surprise that Russ might start taking jabs at Durant for the past few months.

Kevin Durant for his part has tried to play the "guy who has moved on character" as hard as he can. In a recent interview with USA TODAY, Durant has this to say about his former team:

"The 405 (Oklahoma City's area code) has a special place in my heart, those fans, no matter what they call me or how they feel about me, they know, that if you see me anywhere, that you'll feel like I was your friend. That's how you made me feel, and how I made them feel. Those memories are never going to fade. I feel a certain away about that city, that state, that organization. And I look at that as - I'm going to put (those years) on my trophy case. That eight years is going to go in my trophy case. Not in the trash."

Seems like the superstar point guard of the Thunder does not share the same sentiments of Durant as he has been less than civil ever since the guy bolted to the Golden State Warriors. One good thing about this whole mess is that the fans may have gotten a whole new rivalry in the form of Durant vs. Westbrook.

The Cupcake Shots

Cupcake is a term used by Westbrook's former teammate Kendrick Perkins to describe certain players he deemed too soft. It has been said that this became a term the locker room began adopting for themselves.

So when "Beastbrook" posted some Independence Day cupcakes on his Instagram. And since it doesn't look like that Russell has any affinity towards sugary confections, a lot of people definitely took it as a shot at Kevin Durant being soft and taking the easy way out.

 "That's Cute" Comment

When asked by a reporter on his thoughts about a quote by Kevin Durant about how the Golden State Warriors is the epitome of what a family should be. A visibly pissed off Russ has this for an answer:

"That's cute. My job is to worry about what's going on here, we're going to worry about all the selfish guys we've got over here, apparently."

Now, that seems quite odd even if you consider Russell's Westbrook's odd fashion choices. But everything comes to light when you realize that Kevin Durant is a well known avid fan of photography.

Photographer? Baby? Well, that does not seem too subtle.

This rivalry sure seems like it's going to heat up as the season progresses. Russell may have the upper hand when it comes to trolling. But KD sure has him in terms of basketball games as the Thunder got walloped by the Warriors in their first match up.
