Toyota Sets Higher Price For 2017 Highlander, Will It Be Worth It?

Toyota is right up there with the biggest names in the auto industry. It has been consistent in delivering quality vehicles in different segments. The Toyota Highlander is among its creations with high profile. A lot of people have patiently waited for details regarding the price for its 2017 Highlander and it has recently been revealed higher than the previous model. The question now is will it be worth it?

2017 Toyota Highlander Specs

Like before, the 2017 Toyota Highlander has a standard 2.7-liter 4-cylinder engine with a six-speed automatic transmission as reported by The News Wheel. However, buyers may also choose the 3.5-liter V6 or choose to go for higher trim. It will be basically the same with the other V6 found in other models with the difference of being able to put 25 more horsepower for a total of 295 hp due to the use of both port and direct injection. This higher trim is paired exclusively with an eight-speed automatic transmission, capable of 19/25/21 miles per gallon on city driving, highway and combined, respectively for the Four-wheel-drive (FWD). A fuel efficiency range for the All-Wheel-Drive (AWD) is 18/24/20 miles per gallon.

The New Price Range

According to CNET, the new base price of the 2017 Toyota Highlander will be at $30,630 that is $140 higher than its previous model of the FWD. Meanwhile, the price for the V6 trim with 295 horsepower is at $35,060 or $665 higher than the model of the previous year. Moving up to higher trim with the Limited Platinum V6 Highlander (AWD) pushes up the amount to $46,260, again, more expensive than the previous model by $1,270.

Will It Be Worth It?

Whether or not the price is worth paying for depends on the buyer, as the features can only put so much value on the vehicle. At the end of the day, the driver will decide if the higher price is justified or not.
