Samsung Pay's Rewards Program To Roll Out This Week, The First For A Mobile Payment Platform

Samsung Pay will be rolling out its Samsung Rewards program this week. Users will have a chance to receive a number of incentives offered by Samsung. People only need to enroll in the said program to earn points in every Samsung Pay transaction.

The Samsung Rewards Program

According to the Business Wire, the Samsung Rewards program is a first-of-its-kind for a mobile payment platform in the US. Users have already been using digital wallets. In that market, Samsung is up against its tech rivals Apple and Google. The Samsung Rewards program is actually an innovative strategy for the company.

This will encourage Samsung Pay customers to make use of their digital wallet more. On the other hand, users can actually redeem a variety of items with the points they will earn. Among these rewards include gift cards to some of the major retailers, prepaid Samsung Rewards Visa gift cards and other Samsung products, according to The Verge.

Status Levels, Multiplied Points, Other Prizes

The program also works in a way that a certain number of transactions in a month will promote the user's status to another level. Points can be multiplied depending on the user's level status. For instance, Business Wire explained that a Samsung Rewards program enrollee will achieve a "Silver" status with five transactions in one month. That also means his/her points will since then be multiplied twice for every transaction using the Samsung Pay.

20 transactions for a month will promote the user to the "Gold" status. The earned points will be tripled. In order to get to the "Platinum" level, there should be 30 monthly transactions. His/her points will then be quadrupled.

There are also "Instant Prizes" that include a trip for two to Napa Valley and new prizes that will be rotating regularly. The winners will be selected by the program among its active enrollees. Users can monitor their earned points, rewards and redeem them via the Samsung Pay app and soon Samsung's website.
