"Shokugei No Soma" Season 3 is slated for release in 2017. This new season will feature a new leadership at the Totsuki Academy because the former headmaster was booted out by the Elite Ten. He was replaced by the father of Erina, Nakiri Azami. Senzaemon, Erina's grandpa was voted out, six to 4, and was forced to step down.

This New Season Will Reveal Erina's Tortured Past

"Shokugei No Soma" Season 3 will reveal the tormented past of Nakiri Erina. When she was still small, she had a gift of "God Tongue" which was known to Azami, her father. But he subjected her daughter to a ruthless regime. Erina was forced by Azami to taste different dishes and to uncover their errors. He even used force in training his daughter.

Her grandpa, Senzaemon, will ask Soma's help to rescue Erina from the cruelties of her father. When Senzaemon learned of Azami's cruel treatment of his daughter, he banished Azami from his family and in Totsuki Academy as well. Then he tried to help Erina recover from the damage done to her by her father. But Erina's personality and character have already been adversely affected. She developed an extreme fear of her father and an arrogant disposition.

Did Erina Knew Of Soma's Father Early On?

"Shokugei No Soma" Season 3 spoilers also indicate that Erina might have known Soma's father while she was still a child. The upcoming season will show that Erina has a picture of Soma's father, Yukihira Joichiro. Based on the manga, Joichiro met Erina while she was still a small child when her grandfather invited Joichiro in the Nakiri mansion.

"Shokugei No Soma" Season 3 will show how Joichiro inspired Erina to become a chef. It will be revealed that she did not like to cook, even if she had the ability of "God Tongue." But when she tasted Joichiro's dishes she was inspired to be a chef and to enter the Totsuki Academy.
