Super Mario Run To Come In Three Modes

In Super Mario Run, players navigate traditional 2D Mario levels in an attempt to collect as much coins as possible before reaching the flagpole at the end of the level. Tapping makes the auto-running Mario jump. The longer the screen is touched, the higher Mario jumps.

Like other Super Mario games, the player needs to maneuver Mario over gaps, onto enemies and into coins to collect them. The end goal is for the player to safely get Mario through the level in the fastest time possible.

Super Mario Run has multiple worlds and levels with six worlds already revealed on the demo screen. Alongside a single player mode is the "Toad Rally" which allows the player to compete against one another for coins. Lastly, the third mode allows gamers to create their own "Mushroom Kingdom" using the coins that were collected early in the game.

Nintendo Stocks Soar As It Announces Super Mario Run Release

Nintendo's stocks have increased dramatically Wednesday after the firm announced the release date and price of its upcoming Super Mario Run mobile game.

Shares of Nintendo went up as much as 5.3 percent in Asia before closing in at 2.78 percent higher at 25,550 yen, CNBC reported. It continues the solid performance of Nintendo's stock price which is up 52.5 percent year-to-date.

According to a research from VGChartz, Super Mario is one of Nintendo's most famous games with the whole franchise dispensing over 500 million units. Some analysts hinted on its price being too high while others were more positive about it reasoning Nintendo and Mario game's strong reputation.

"Offering a free game with an option to unlock all the available content for just $9.99 will appeal as a pricing point to many. Many successful mobile games, such as 'Clash of Clans' by way of example, have seen an annual spend of over $100/year/gamer. So to set a low incentive (zero to try) and then a low total cost when engaged could set Nintendo on a differentiated path which, ultimately, could be a game changer to address a wider audience," Neil Campling, head of global technology, media and telecoms research at Northern Trust Capital Markets, wrote in a note on Tuesday.
