‘Wentworth’ Season 5 To See Danielle Cormack In 12 Episodes; Actress Hinted Her Big Comeback

“Wentworth” season 5 is not happening without Bea Smith. Actress Danielle Cormack’s major hints on her explosive return are but promising.

Recent reports shed light on the uncertainties that keep pursuing the show and its future. As mentioned, the popular soap set for a 2017 premiere contains 12 episodes. Foxtel honcho Penny Win described “Wentworth” as a long time “juggernaut” that they are madly proud of. Having said such, cancellation rumors can now be put to rest. In fact, production of the series started last August in Melbourne. Cormack's posts on her social media accounts directly confirmed her excitement on the latest season of the hit show.

The most interesting update that surfaced on the web about Danielle’s reprising her role is Bea’s high chances of survival following the horrible tragedy. A source noted that "Wentworth" is a modern reimagining of “Prisoner” in Australia, "Prisoner: Cell Block H" in the UK and "Caged Woman" in Canada which ran from 1979 to 1986. In the original version, Bea’s death was revealed not until she reached her old age. If this plot will not be applied in the upcoming installment, followers can expect Bea’s appearance through flashbacks.

Bea’s crucial role in the Australian drama is greatly admired by many and even reached positive reviews internationally. When SoHo killed her persona, mixed reactions from the press and the fans are unstoppable. Even her love interest Allie Novak (Kate Jenkinson) felt empty with her absence.

”On a selfish note, it means I don’t get to work with Dan anymore, and that’s devastating. And who is Allie if not the love of Bea’s life? So there were so many questions, but the more I thought about it and the more I spoke to Danielle about it—who is incredibly philosophical and understood the long game a lot better than I did—I began to change my opinion about whether it was a good idea or not,”Jenkinson said in an interview.
