Overwatch Hero Sombra Update: Overwatch Pro Players Unsure On How To Use Sombra

Overwatch Hero Sombra is still an unknown force in the competitive matches. One Overwatch pro player tried to use her for the first time with a disastrous result.

Sombra Put To Sleep By Ana's Sleep Dart

The first time Sombra was used in a Pro tournament was during the APEX Overwatch match between Lunatic Hai versus Mighty Storm. One Lunatic Hai member, Esca, decided to use Sombra during the match. Sombra tries to sneak up on the eastern part of the Anubis map but was spotted by Mighty Storm player SIP who was using Ana at that time. One shot of sleep dart immediately brought Sombra to sleep. The short video clip of the Ana - Sombra encounter could be seen here.

Is Sombra An Effective Hero?

Most Overwatch pundits are divided in their opinion about Sombra. An Overwatch commentator believes that she is broken and needs a buff. However, one Overwatch pro player feels that Sombra is way too powerful that puts other heroes at a disadvantage. Blizzard has just released Sombra from the PTR and it's still quite early for any adjustment.

Sombra' Future In Overwatch Competitive Matches

Many Overwatch observers believed that Sombra will be a significant game changer in the game. It will take time though for pro players to develop strategies that will make full use of her abilities. There are also other recent changes included in the game such as the buffs and nerfs applied to other Overwatch heroes.

Sombra is the latest and 23rd hero included in Overwatch. Her primary weapon is a semi-automatic pistol and uses a camo suit to make herself invisible to her enemies. She also has the ability to hack into other hero's special ability and health packs. She can also jump from one place to another using a Translocator beacon. Her ultimate move is the EMP shock wave which hacks all enemies' special ability caught within the radius.
