Nokia Debuting 6 New Lumia Phones At Mobile World Congress

With the Mobile World conference just over the horizon, a supposedly reliable Twitter user called Flavio claims that Nokia will reveal six new Lumia phones, including a Lumia EOS with a 41-megapixel camera called the EOS. A mid-range Nokia "Catwalk" is expected to replace the Lumia 920. Nokia will not, however, display a tablet at the MWC.

The camera sounds ridiculous, but Nokia revealed its 808 PureView last year at the MWC, a heavyweight smartphone with a 41MP sensor. At its launch, the Finnish company said that if it were to put a camera of that size into a Lumia, it would take a year. One year later, that could be coming to pass.

The EOS would be Nokia's first true PureView phone, and MyNokiaBlog reports it will run Windows Phone 8, ranking as a high-end Lumia. It, and the Catwalk, will reportedly sport an aluminum body, signifying Nokia's shift away from its polycarbonate love affair. AT&T will have it in stock later this year, the Verge reports, and the phone will be a part of Nokia's new design cycle.

Four handsets have already been pretty much confirmed — user @ailon noticed several phones of note on US Verizon carrier logs, TechRadar reports. "I see Nokia RM-914 (Lumia 520), RM-885 (Lumia 720), RM-887(?) and RM-860(?) on Verizon in our logs. 3-4 new phones at #MWC13?"

The Lumia 520 is expected to be a budget-end phone with a 4-inch display, 1GHz dual-core CPU and 512MB of RAM. It will have 8 GB of internal HD space. Rumor has it the 720 will sport the same RAM, processor and internal storage, but with a 4.3-inch screen.

The RM-887 and RM-860 have not received any coverage or suffered info leaks, so TechRadar speculates they could be variations on existing phones.
