A New-look For Samsung Galaxy S7 Is Coming Your Way
Samsung is hoping to move past the debacle of its exploding Galaxy Note 7 phones by modifying its Galaxy S7 to look more elegant. The company might surprise customers with an all-new glossy black color option for its Galaxy S7 line of smartphones, the Korean Herald reports. According to industry sources, the newly added hue will resemble the ‘Jet Black‘ cover that Apple offers as an option for its flagship iPhone 7.
New-look For Samsung Galaxy S7
According to the report of The Investor on Monday, Samsung is planning on launching a glossy black version of its Galaxy S7 smartphone, which will no doubt draw comparisons with the 'Jet Black' and 'Matte Black' versions of Apple's iPhone 7.The goal of the release will reportedly be to reignite interest in both the Galaxy S7 phone and Samsung as a smartphone maker in general, following the Galaxy Note 7 fiasco.
This will not be the only black variant of the Samsung Galaxy S7 — the smartphone is already available in Black Onyx, but Black Onyx is somewhat of the matte finish. The so-called glossy black finish won’t be matte at all, but will instead by quite shiny, like the Jet Black offering on the iPhone 7. There is a drawback to that finish on the iPhone — it is very prone to scratches and dents, as explained by the Digital Trends.
Samsung Over Apple
Samsung has stacked up a fairly decent sales record on home turf with the recent available color option refreshments to its nine-month-old Galaxy S7 lineup. Outside of Korea, Samsung continues to trail behind Apple when it comes to sales. As per Korean Herald, the new Coral Blue S7 is currently selling almost 15,000 units each day; by comparison, sales of the iPhone 7 have dropped to about 10,000 units a day.
This isn’t the first time that Samsung has aped Apple’s color scheme in order to boost sales for its own products. As Tech Times reported in August, Samsung added a Pink Gold option to its Galaxy S7 and as well as in Galaxy S7 edge smartphones in a seeming effort to complete with the Rose Gold colors being offered for Apple iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus smartphones.
