‘Rick & Morty' Season 3 On Censorship: Justin Roiland, Dan Harmon Reveal How Far They Can Go This Season

There's a laundry list of reasons why "Rick and Morty" fans should wait for season 3 to come. The first two seasons of the animated sci-fi comedy series had been quite controversial owing to their downright and subtle profanity. What makes fans love them is the fact that they were way too hilarious in every sense of the word. This redefined the scape of animated TV series for adults. On "Rick and Morty" season 3, how far can co-creators Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon go to defy the standards of censorship without necessarily breaking the rules?

Non-Skin Ripping Jokes And Gory Stuff

It is not debatable to say that Roiland and Harmon are masters of non-skin ripping jokes and gory stuff. Speaking to Collider, Harmon admitted that he sometimes didn't bother to look at the notes of Standards and Practices for "Rick and Morty" because they change only the show's graphics and make-ups. For instance, they suggested using green for brains busted instead of pink, and purple for feces.

Sex And Violence

On the other hand, Roiland disclosed that violence seemed not an issue although viewers can really witness 14-year-old Morty shooting down aliens. However, sex has been quite sensitive for them. There have been quite a lot in the previous seasons. In particular, the episode 3 of season 2 titled "Auto Erotic Assimilation" showed flamboyantly a planet-wide orgy, stark-naked redheads and men, and a crotchless Uncle Sam outfit. The description in itself seemed too explicit but the creators managed to pull off the episode without a hint of vulgarity.

"Rick and Morty" season 3 is slated to bring more than what the first two seasons can offer. It may be either Morty asking another sex doll from Rick, or Morty taking a lady in bed. Whatever it is, this season is bound to be another surefire hit.

"Rick and Morty" season 3 premiere date has not been officially confirmed yet.
