Verizon Follows T-Mobile’s Lead, Will Give Away ‘Free’ iPhone 7 On Black Friday

Verizon is set to challenge T-Mobile's Black Friday deal with a similar offer of a 'free' iPhone 7.

Like its competitor, Verizon is offering an iPhone 7 in exchange for another smartphone. According to Fortune, existing Verizon customers can avail of the promotion as long as they sign up for a 24-month instalment plan. Verizon will shoulder the iPhone 7's monthly payment until it is fully paid. But if the customer decides to cut the plan before the two years are up, he or she will not get full credit for the iPhone.

The carrier's trade-in offer is applicable only if the smartphone to be surrendered is a recent model that is still working. The eligible devices are as follows:

  • iPhone 6s
  • iPhone 6s Plus
  • iPhone 7
  • iPhone 7 Plus
  • Samsung Galaxy S6
  • Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge
  • Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+
  • Samsung Galaxy S7
  • Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge
  • Samsung Note 5
  • LG V20
  • LG G5
  • Moto Droid Turbo 2

Those using other carriers who switch to Verizon will receive a $200 prepaid Visa card upon purchase of a smartphone on a payment plan. This offer is valid for up to four lines and a maximum payout of $800. This deal is perfect for families.

Flagship smartphones from other companies can also be availed through the trade-in offer. Aside from the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, customers can choose among Samsung S7 , Samsung S7 Edge, Google Pixel, Pixel XL, Moto Z Droid, and Moto Z Droid Force.

The deal will be offered online starting on Thursday, Nov. 24, and will become available in stores the following day. It will end on Sunday though discounts will still be given that day.

Verizon is also offering other Apple products such as the iPad Mini 2 at discounted prices during the Black Friday weekend.
