Chevrolet News And Update: The ZL1 Claims Fastest Camaro Title

The 2017 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 is crowned as the fastest Camaro to ever grace the roads with its tires. Enthusiasts have been patiently awaiting details of the Chevrolet beast since it was revealed earlier this year. Price and figures are now out along with the new king of the road, the 2017 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1.

The Fastest Camaro Ever

As reported, the 2018 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 is powered by the same 6.2 liter LT4 V-8 monster of an engine found in the Corvette Z06 that puts out 650 horsepower at 6,400 rpm and 650 pound feet of torque at 3,600 rpm. This monster powertrain allows the 2017 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 to go from zero to 60 mph in a manner of 3.5 seconds and can travel a distance of a quarter mile within less than 12 seconds. It was also mentioned that the powerful engine is paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission but an optional six-speed manual transmission is also available.

External Features

The 2017 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 looks as good as it is powerful. Car and Driver reported that it features a wide hip, broad shoulder and an open jaw that gives it a mean look. Compared to the SS model, the front fenders of the ZL1 is wider by 0.6 inch that functions as a cover to its big tires and allows more air to cool down the heat exchangers that are found in the front section of the ZL1. Accordingly, the 2017 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 also sports a 10 and 11-inch wide tires in the front and rear respectively. The tires are supplied by Goodyear where a pair of  285/30R-20 is found in front and a pair of 305/30R-20 in the rear.

Price And Availability

According to the report, the 2017 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 has a price tag of $62,135 and 69,135 for the coupe and convertible respectively. It was also mentioned that the 2017 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 will hit the showrooms later this month.
