George R.R. Martin Hints Possible Release Of 'The Winds Of Winter'; Haruki Murakami To Release New Book In February
Book lovers around the world will be thrilled to find out that two of their favorite authors have announced updates regarding their current works. Haruki Murakami has just announced that he will be releasing a new book soon. Meanwhile, George R.R. Martin has hinted that “The Winds of Winter” might just be out sooner than everyone thought.
Shinchosha Publishing Co. has made an announcement on Nov. 29 that Haruki Murakami will be releasing a new novel soon. The said novel is set to be published and out in stores in February next year. That was the only news they revealed about Murakami’s upcoming new book.
Haruki Murakami is a prize-winning writer who has written countless notable novels such “Kafka on the Shore”, which he released in 2002 and “1Q84”, which was released sometime in 2009. His literary works were so good that several of them have been adapted into movies and short films in Japan and overseas.
His first novel titled “Hear the Wind Sing” was adapted into a movie that was released in 1981. Even his collection of stories based on the events after the devastating earthquake that hit Japan in 2011 was made into an extended play album. The album that consisted of six songs was produced by musician Dre Carlan.
Meanwhile, George R.R. Martin might have just let fans on something after probably hinting that he is actually releasing “The Winds of Winter” soon. The said book was part of the novel series, “A Song of Ice and Fire”, which Martin started on in 1991. The said series have been adapted into a television show on HBO titled “Game of Thrones”.
The first book of the novel series, “A Game of Thrones” was published in 1996 and the latest and the fifth one, “A Dance With Dragons” was released in July 2011. Since then fans have been waiting for the sixth and seventh novels to be released.
With the “Game of Thrones” heading on to a direction unknown to the book readers, fans grow weary especially after rumors that Martin has canceled the publication of the last two books. But it seems like he has ignited hope as he commented just recently at the Guadalajara International Book Fair 2016 that it was his last scheduled appearance for the year.
Aside from that, he has further revealed that fans will rarely see him next year as his schedule will be limited in 2017. This could probably mean he has finally resolved to finish some of his works. Fans are crossing their fingers that “The Winds of Winter” will be released sometime along the premiere of “Game of Thrones” Season 7.
