Furthermore, it was reiterated in the series' promo that the show will go darker compare to the previous installments. The creators allegedly gave everything for this season as it was reported to be the final season.

In current reports, it was told that Sherlock would get to face a villain by the presence of Toby Jones' Culverton Smith. He is ready to be a huge bump and a threat in the lead star's exploration.

Recent news admitted that Smith would work hand in hand with Jim Moriarty to finally defeat the character of Sherlock. Moriarty disappeared in the show but allegedly returning for this season. Fans already gave speculations as to why the two would work together to be able to avenge from Sherlock.

It was revealed that Smith is planning to kill high profile citizens and Sherlock would not let it happen. Thus, Smith would do everything just to let the lead character get out of his plans and ways. Would he be successful?
