'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D' Season 4, Episode 9 Spoilers: Ghost Rider Not Dead; Aida Gets An Upgrade As Series Returns On January 10

"Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D" season 4 winter finale ended with Ghost Rider's shocking decision. Robbie Reyes (Gabriel Luna) sacrificed himself to bring down his crazy uncle Eli Morrow (José Zúñiga). Is it really Ghost Rider's last ride in the Marvel series? Meanwhile, Aida will get a system upgrade as "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D" season 4 returns for episode 9.

In "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D" season 4, episode 8, Ghost Rider pulled Eli and the demon core down with himself in another dimension and the two vanished in a flash. However, no dead body means no death and Robbie might still be alive somewhere. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Luna dodged the question about his potential comeback before giving some clues.

"Agent Phil Coulson comes in and drops knowledge like a clumsy librarian, as he tends to do, and lifts her (Daisy) spirits and says to her, 'I don't think this is the last we'll see of him (Ghost Rider),'" the actor said. He added that it's good news for the Ghost Rider fans.

"Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D" season 4, episode 9 will revolve around Aida. Aida says she made a few upgrades on herself and she looks more powerful than before. The preview also narrated that S.H.I.E.L.D. will pay the price for creating the life model decoy.

Meanwhile, it was previously reported that "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D" might not be renewed for a fifth season. Aside from relatively low ratings, it was reported that the series will be pushed out to give way for "The Inhumans."

"Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D" season 4, episode 9 will air on Jan. 10 at 10 p.m. EST on ABC. The series will also air a digital spin-off with six episodes titled "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D: Slingshot" starting Tuesday, Dec. 13. The episodes will be 3 and 6 minutes long and will be available on ABC.go.com, Marvel.com and ABC's mobile app.
