Apple has been said to be working closely on the next-gen iMacs for a while now. But the refreshed all-in-one device did not appear at the company's October event. Rumors are rounding up that the revived lineup of the iMac might be launched in 2017.

iMac 2017 May Come Powered by Kaby Lake

At first, the rumors have been rounding up that the new iMac 2017 would be powered by Intel's Kaby Lake processors. However,Kaby Lake will not be ready until the end of the year. This is the might be the reason for why the new iMacs was a no-show in two of the latest Apple events, as they are waiting for the go-at of Kaby Lake. Now, some unconfirmed speculations, that Apple will also run with Intel Xeon for iMac 2017 rather than waiting for Kaby Lake.

At first, the new iMac 2017 would come powered by Intel's Kaby Lake processors. But Kaby Lake will not be ready until the end of the year. This is the probable reason for why the new iMacs was a no-show in two of the latest Apple events, as they are waiting for the availability of Kaby Lake.

The iMac range last updates was in 2015 that changed the high-end models over to Intel's Skylake processors, and also the 21.5in models to Broadwell chips. What 2017 holds in store for the range is still unclear, as Intel's chipsets seem to be somewhat out of step with Apple's interest at this time.

iMac 2017 Processor Models

The specific model of Kaby Lake processor which we anticipate to show in the next iMac is the i7-7700. And as luck would have it, some sources has got hold of what they truly understand to be a pre-release sample of that chip. Commonly, they directly overclocked it and put it through meticulous speed tests.

iMac 2017 AMD Processors

We're expecting Apple to prefer Intel-based CPUs, but there's also a chance AMD might also appear in certain iMac models. With the new AMD Zen processor, we are hoping to see the CPU make an appearance in a lot of best-class machines, given its enormous processing power. The new processor boasts 8 cores and 16 threads - a vast amount of fresh processing power. Also the suggested price of the Zen CPU, we foresee it either to be in the top-spec iMacs or be an improved option.

The iMac 2017 Might Be VR-Ready

The iMac 2017 is also speculated to pack in compatibility for VR or virtual reality and a powerful GPU to provide a better user experience. The device will allegedly house each of two, a Polaris 11 or Polaris 10 GPU from AMD.The upcoming iMac will also reportedly set up full flash storage and be slimmer and lighter than the past gen versions.

The Rumored Release Date

Release Rumors are prevalent that the new iMacs may be making their debut in early 2017 or most possible Q1 2017. Some reports suspicion will be at the CES 2017 announcement for the iMacs. Stay tuned for more updates.
